Odd Ends and Bits

So as it turns out, I DID forget to tell you a few things on last Sunday's post. Better late then never, right? So on the day of my interview (exactly one week ago), Paul Kalainoff (District 6000 Outbound Coordinator) told me that I should know the city I'll be living in in about 2-3 weeks. So now, I should know in about 1-2 weeks! YAY!! I'm so excited :D Apparently, the last two kids from our district who went to Spain lived in MADRID!! I told my Spanish teacher, Señora Kies, about everything, and she's very excited! She lived in a small town in Spain for a semester in college, and although she says SHE wouldn't want to live in the city, I really hope I end up in a coastal city like Barcelona, but if not, in Madrid :)

Also, I went to Quiznos this past week to apply for a job (my Grandma has good connections there). However, they aren't hiring :'( They still took my application, but it was pretty disappointing. So, I am currently looking for a job, because I want to earn some extra money for my exchange. If you think you could help me out, let me know!! haha :) I have a bunch of applications saved in My Favorites to fill out and submit around town; hopefully I can get that done in the next week.

Also this week, my driver's license came in the mail! Now, I don't have to carry around that silly piece of paper for it. I'm really going to miss driving while in Spain!! (It's one of Rotary Rules they call the 4 D's - No: Driving, serious Dating, Drinking (to the point of becoming drunk), and Drugs).

Track and Field starts this Tuesday, but for the first time in four years, I won't be running this season. Because of my surgery, I'm WAY behind on training, and with wanting to work this spring, I just think it'd be best not to do Track. It's especially sad because my best friend Jenn decided to try out track for the first time this year, and we're not going to be able to share that experience together :( However, I'm definitely planning on cheering her on at a few meets c:

Finally: newspaper. Some of you may know that I'm on the staff of the Cardinal Chronicle (school newspaper). My goal was to be editor-in-chief my senior year, if not junior year. With my exchange, I'm afraid that won't be possible :'( Although, I am hoping to be sending little pieces of writing to Ms. Calvin (Newspaper teacher) for the publications website, or possibly even the Cardinal Chronicle next year. When I talked to her about everything, she was really disappointed that I'd be gone, but said that of course she'd appreciate some writing while I'm overseas.

If I don't send Ms. Calvin writings - or even if I do - I think it'd be cool to send the Newton Daily News some stuff. I wonder if they'd publish it?? Hmm... I think I'll talk to them about that :)

I hope you've enjoyed this post of odd ends and bits! Until later, adiós!
